Through the keyhole...
Or big hole in a stone. When LH starts taking photos like this when on site, it is clear that it is a boring day.
Today involved opening up more trenches across the Botanic Cottage site. When these are first opened, it involves a lot of standing around watching concrete being broken. However, once the digging begins, it is headless chicken time.
The site was used at some point in the 20th century as a monumental mason's workshop. As a result I kept finding curiously carved stones that on any other site would cause a great deal of excitement.
Here Brian is digging through the upper deposit - photographed through one of the curiously carved stones.
Nice to be out on site on such a beautiful day. After work we wnet for a cycle to Victoria Park with a firend, getting an ice cream and photographing more of the Commonwealth Games mascots - Clyde.
