This blip was taken from an area where granite was quarried. The quarry opened in 1876, it produced stone for many Sydney landmarks including the granite pylons for the Sydney Harbour Bridge. From 1925 to 1930, the Harbour Bridge works saw 250 stonemasons employed.
The population of Moruya in the 2011 census was only 2,531.
