Between fen and mountains

By Tickytocky

In anticipation

There are vines everywhere around the village, in gardens, on trellises and on balconies. The fruit has formed and I am following its progress with interest. The neighbours have hundreds of bunches on their vine and, as they are never here in autumn, we have been given free rein to harvest them. That will mean more grape jelly no doubt. After a damp July there has been a lot of growth and vegetable gardens are doing well. Today two friends gave us bags of peaches and cucumbers. There is nothing nicer than a peach picked straight from the tree!
