Off to see another commonwealth games event
It was another early start for us as we were heading to another Commonwealth Games events. This time it was the men's hockey - England v New Zealand. With no park and ride option, we decided the best option was to drive closer to Glasgow and then get a train the rest of huge way! Surprisingly the trip there went very smoothly, CJ loved the early morning train ride and was in great form, despite waking up at 3am to play with his toys.
Today we were joined by F&V&R&I. Unfortunately the hockey atmosphere wasn't as good as the seven's and it was harder to keep the kids entertained. But CJ loved playing with the seats again and was pretty well behaved, only getting really upset when we tried to get a photo with the games mascot, Clyde!
After the hockey session finished we headed to Glasgow Green to see the Live site - a huge area with big screens, kids entertainment, food etc - a place to celebrate the games. CJ fell asleep on the walk there, so he and S2 had a quick lay down before our picnic lunch, while watching events on the big screen. As a treat we brought CJ mussels and he was so protective of them, he wouldn't share a single one with S2.
I think CJ's favourite point of the day was chasing all the pigeons. Although he was chasing them with chips and trying to feed them. I've never seen a pigeon more confused then when it's trying to decide whether or not to fly away from the little hoy running towards them as he has food!
A lovely day out, it was great to catch up with F&V&R&I and soak up some of the games atmosphere around Glasgow and not just at the sporting events!
