Maize! ... in the Highlands! This is as far on as the crop made it, before being killed off by the weather. Who on Earth thought it would worthwhile planting several strips of it, in a mostly shady part of the Black Isle? Suspect your sanity may have been questioned if you'd planted it in the Borders, never mind 200 miles further North!
It's not as if the local landowner in this area has any livestock to feed it to either. Mostly growing Christmas trees and some shooting stuff around this bit. Didn't even look like the local (wild) deer had taken any interest in it. There did used to be some wild goats about here though. They'd eat anything...
