Yap…Long ago this was a fence but it ceased to be effective some years ago and it’s principal use now according to The Boss is ascetic as a grrreat compositional component for images.
This was later today and the wind was blowing as promised and even with all the guy wires and stuff The Boss had a hard time keeping things still while the waves crashed on the beach, rocks and anything that got in the way. I was on security watch. I was securely anchored to his belt as wot with the shrieking wind and threatening rain and The Boss completely distracted I probably just probably…errr…maybe even possibly would have taken the main chance and gone exploring. The Boss is fussy about this so belted I was and I took care to not even approach the tripod and camera. Been there and done that and got seriously Growwwled at. Right!
At the start of the walk The Bossess had phoned to report a power cut and the Boss had returned to reset the UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) which is a fairly important component in office computer systems here as Wanaka is on the end of a long wire for power and it can and does stop occasionally with winds, storms and drunk drivers. It seemed upset when he reset it but he left anyway to later discover that it was still complaining and bits of the house were not going at all because one phase of the main feed to town had quit which meant we still had some power…sorta. On discovering this a committee decided that tea (That’s TEA T not T Tea) was fried sandwiches made on our gas stove which is an older model and can be manually lit with a match which saves having to get the BBQ out. It was really romantic with The Bossess and The Boss eating their lovely hot sandies and sharing some crisps while they gazed at each other across the rapidly disappearing table….It was getting darker. The moment was completely broken by ME as there was a roll of thunder and I BARKED!!!... Well of course I did as my thunder jacket was in the cupboard and not on ME.
Anyway the lovely line men found the lost Chord Phase and light was restored to the land just in time to boil the kettle followed by the most important task of the day…..Right again. Blip…….
Wave to the photographer?
