Very similar view of the Kessock Bridge as last night - minus the fog, so Inverness has returned!
More night-time lens testing (Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 VC). And more flare and ghosting along with coma and other er, characteristics. Perhaps best not to have too many bright light sources directly coming towards this lens at night time. It's not as good in that respect as the fixed 30mm Sigma, which, such as these things go, has other issues. Some lessons learned from this little bit of testing. It's still a damn good lens for most uses, and fulfilled it's main purpose at recording indoor and poor light photos at a friend's wedding back in June. The VC - "Vibration compensation" - is really great for assisting against shaky hand-held shots in the gloom. As long as you give it a second or two to stabilise.
