A blip for Yorkshire Day!
This is the Denby Dale Pie Hall and the dish used on September 5th 1964 to bake the "biggest ever" pie, number eight in a long & illustrious sequence! This pie was baked with a view to raising funds to build a new community hall in the village ( The Pie Hall ) in yet another new tin, measuring 18ft. long, 6ft. wide and 18 inches deep. The tin is now used as a planter outside the hall.
There have been two further record breaking pies ( I think maybe Guinness Book of Records? ) in 1988 and 2000. After that 'elf intervened...
