Disaster

Torrential rain arrived twenty minutes before I got home, and in that time the lilies that I had hoped to put into tomorrow's village show, were bent down to the ground.

The pollen has splashed onto the pink flowers and stained them yellow.

I dived out to rescue a stem for tomorrow, which now sits in the downstairs loo, the coolest room in the house. Have been baking since 3 pm to enter a few items in the home produce section.

Am now about to sit down to fish and chips from the excellent van that comes to the village every Friday and cooks from 5 pm to 8pm. Yum
