Floating Tank
A sunny morning and afternoon and then it clouded over just in time for finishing work and the rain came. Cleared again but for how long!
With the fine sunny day, it's been a fairly quiet day in the museum. I was asked to go out on the boat for a fishing competition but the rain put me off. A quiet night ahead with the telly as I'm working all weekend.
Lerwick harbour is usually busy but even more so lately. This past week a Chinese ship the Xiang Yun Kou has been in the harbour with a massive tanker as cargo. Today the ship submerged itself in the sea and letting this massive tanker float from it and then they towed the tanker back to Lerwick before it's next journey 60 miles west of Shetland where it will be under the sea for 30 plus years. I missed the best of the submerging action as it was too early in the morning :) Here it is passing the museum at Hay's Dock this morning.
