A tree has no voice
In its silent , stately glory
Who will speak to save it from the chainsaw?

Came across this plea to save a 180 year-old pear tree on a lampost in Highgate this afternoon. No idea why it should have been there as the tree is in Bayswater - several miles away. Apparently it's the last remaining tree from a market garden that was once behind Westbourne Grove.
I saw that the application was to be decided on 13 May - a while ago now. I just looked it up on line and the application was refused. My faith in TPOs is restored.
Wonder if I could work this into a guided walk?
Hope the owners don't simply find some other way to kill it...
