Avon descent 2014

We went to Toodyay today, about 100 kms from Perth, to catch a glimpse of the competitors in the Avon Descent. This is the longest white water race in the world, 124 kms over 2 days. It is the only race which includes power craft, canoes, surf skis, kayaks, all starting at different stages. This year, as we have had super rainfall, the river is just right. Some years the competitors have had to carry their craft in some states as the river has been dry!!

I chose these guys because I was intrigued as to what the rear go pro dude was filming besides the back of his mate's head! Also I love his expression as the very solid base of the Toodyay bridge surges rapidly towards their craft ;)
