Ord Hill
Such an uninspiring walk today.
Poppy spent most of the time with her head in the raspberry bushes stocking up on her 5 a day fodder, so no photo opportunities there.
Bud was determined that he was never going to give up searching for his best, smelliest ball that was stuck in the middle of the prickliest bush I have ever seen. No way was either I or Poppy venturing in amongst all those spines to get it for him and he, poor lad, kept leaping back with a yelp every time he got anywhere near the ball. He couldn't forget it though and was constantly searching all the rest of the way.
Then, when we were walking past the Christmas Tree Plantation I spotted all these plants, carefully pulled up by their roots and laid at intervals across the path. Strange. If you're going to pull up plants for some unknown reason, why lay them neatly in a row down the length of the path. It went on for quite some time. There was no-one else about, but they had only recently been uprooted as the soil on their roots was still damp.
When I got home I thought I would look up their name and got quite exited when I thought they could be
Lady's Bedstraw or
Sneezewort or
Treacle Mustard or
Yellow Rattle or best of all
Jack-go-to-Bed-at-Noon
Any of these would provide me with a brilliant blip I thought. But, I had to, very disappointingly, admit that they were Common Ragwort, which is just as boring as was the rest of the morning.
