Spongebob Squarepants!
Not having children, things like Spongebob Squarepants are unintelligible alien productions that I find hard to tune into. To 6 year old E, though, it is like his second family and both he and his sister glaze over and go into a world of their own when the cartoons are on.
As I knew their mother at the same age, I can vouch that she was just the same when the old cartoons were on when we were kids and I was just as bemused by them even back then. Trying to get her attention while she watched Top Cat, Hong Kong Phooey etc was utterly impossible.
Anyway.... I slept very well in the new bed in their spare room and woke at 8am. After a quick shower, again surrounded by paint pots and dust, I had a nice breakfast with E and C.
B and I then nipped off to buy some match pots for their hall paint (they've eventually gone for Coconut Juice - well - off white!) and then stopped in M&S for a coffee and catch up and did their weekly shop in Tesco. I'm really living the high life down here this weekend!
We prepped dinner and B flogged me two cases of top notch wine for half price (left over from some competition - her hubby is a wine writer). We then settled down to play with the kids and I'm looking forward up a lovely dinner with them all tonight.
