The Scott Monument on a dreich Edinburgh morning..

Still armed with just my phone but this time looking East down Princes Street taking in The Scott Monument. Last night the fireworks image was taken from the same point but looking West along the street taking in Edinburgh Castle.

The Scott Monument stands in the Princes Street Gardens and is to commemorate Sir Walter Scott. It is the largest monument to a writer in the world.
It has 267 steps to the top and one of these days I really must climb them and enjoy some amazing views of this beautiful city.

Dreich: An old Scots word meaning dull, overcast, drizzly, cold, misty and miserable weather.
