The Games 2014

We spent the day on Thursday through in Glasgow, zipping about on NextBikes (come to Edinburgh!). We watched the Men's Cycling Time Trials finishes and the medal's ceremony - would like to have spent longer in Glasgow Green. Short of a bike on the way back into town so Ms H got a backy until we reached one.

The last big push was then out to Hampden where we sat in a noisy cosy stadium. It's the first athletics meet I've been to for maybe 40 years. What amazed me most was the synchronised helpers laying out hurdles, starting blocks - regimented or what, but impressed me!

There were some great races, several finals including Eilidh Child's silver win. It was a fabulously friendly atmosphere, great to see athletes giving 110% and then enjoying the laps of honours afterwards.
