Scudding clouds

A big change in the weather bought torrential rain to mark the start of the new month. Cars were stationary on the roads as grit, mud and water poured off The Downs and onto the carriageways.

Once things had calmed down, an old school friend and I ventured into town for lunch at Pizza Express. Sue is my carer for the weekend (!) and used to teach at The College, (but is now a headmistress in Bolton).

After my afternoon rest, we walked back into Marlborough again for supper with friends. By the close of the long conversation filled evening, it was dark, but clear, and our journey home was star lit.
