Making Borscht

My sweet friend Olga's mom makes the best Borscht-she is from the Ukraine and when we visited with the family last time she visited here , she made us the most wonderful borscht soup, so now I am trying to recreate it. I always thought borscht was mostly beets, but hers has lots of cabbage and other vegetables. My husband says mine is smelling good, so that is a good sign! We can't wait for it to be done enough for dinner. I don't often do food photos, but it is too hot to go outside for a blip today!
