Five Minutes in the Life of a Two Year Old
Mia had fun over at Sylvia's again today and I was reminded of how busy it was with toddlers. Sylvia is not quite three years old. Although they enjoy the same activities, there is a definite difference in attention span that makes me both nostalgic and exhausted.
Today the girls decided to run through the sprinkler. By the time they got their swim suits on and the sprinkler was set up, Sylvia wanted to lay down on the towels. They argued about how to lay them and if Mia was allowed to help Sylvia and just when they got them right, Sylvie decided she wanted to go back to the sprinkler. Then back to the towels again. Then they argued about if they could wear the towels while running in the sprinkler. Then they ran inside to check on Truman the guinea pig. Then they wanted to wrap up in the towels anyway and run around. After several minutes of adjusting the towel, Sylvia finally got it just right and decided that nope; she wanted to pick flowers. All this happened in five minutes. I was exhausted and went in search of coffee.
