Financier

Saturday morning, again, in my favourite tearoom in Rouen, had a much loved Financier . It's a simple and yet delicious biscuit (if you like almonds)! It's my Proust madeleine: my mother used to buy me a financier every time we went past a certain baker's near where lived at some particular period in my life... Just one mouthful and I am back to the few good times I remember... Tastes and smells are such powerful memory tools! And they are particularly important to me.
