On the lake!!!!

At Chartwell this afternoon we walked by one of the 3 lakes and was treated by these water birds! The Black swans were viewed with caution as we had been warned they needed their own space , they were ok just heeded the nibbling bank was theirs .... so .... keep your distance. The Heron in the middle of the lake looked a bit worse for wear to me, maybe he had invaded the Black swans space!! The family of ? Mallards ( do correct me if I am wrong! ) were just delightful. It was a lovely afternoon ,but getting down to the lake was ok but getting back was h... still I coped and live to tell the tail!! You'd think my 6.40 am walks would make it easier , alas not so , I will continue tho' 5th week now??
