Windy Visit!
Hi blippers!
The blip is from Näsinneula, the tallest free-standing structure in Finland and the tallest observation tower in the Nordic countries at a height of 168 metres (551 ft). The elevators of the tower are the fastest in FInland and take you to the top on 27 seconds, which means some 6m/second - and for sure you have locked ears!
A lagrer view here if you like!?
It has been summerish day, slept all too late and ate late breakfast at 11am! After some light and sweaty household jobs me and the teens left to the city (my hubby is still at work) and had a Subway-meal for lunch. Had a lazy walk too in the park Sorsapuisto under the trees. A lot of people had blankets on the grass there, some having also picnic lunch and some had hammocks between trees. Hammocks where they took rest in warm air with a slight wind.
We felt hot in there too, anyway, and decided to go swimming into Näsijärvi-lake, to the Eliander's beach. Water was so cool, only +16c on this beach where the lake is wide open, lagre and deep. Very refreshing, as the air temperature was some +30c.
In the blip the beach is down on the left and you easily can see my house in the shot too, somewhere far far there in the middle of blue humidity...
As we were on the beach so close to "the one and only" observation tower Näsinneula, we saw that the outdoor obervation floor in open air was in use today, we had an idea to visit there in Näsinneula too!!!
So we decided to do something silly and go the the tower. Huge scenery and what a mild wind was there up, on the shore of the big lake!
Many other scenes from the tower here in my Flick site, if you like to see around!
Late home and as a late night dinner we had cooked new potatoes, salad and grilled salmon in our backyard. At 22pm there still is +26c, maybe we soon are getting used to these hot, tropical nights! I am planning to sleep in hammock in the garden.
This has been (again) maybe one of the best days of my summer 2014... ;)
