These are spectacular plants just growing by the shore.
They look good stuck in a big vase on the floor (the whole plant is about five feet high). They were traditionally (and are still used in cashmere, billiard table cloth, roof linings for Roles Royce cars etc) to 'full' cloth i.e. fluff it up after it's been woven, which gives them their other name 'Fullers Teasel'
We collected a couple to take home which was tricky as they are kind of jaggy.
