The Beach

We had a family day out up the coast today. The Vikings were attacking Lindisfarne, so we thought it was worth taking a look! We saw a few skirmishes which were pretty impressive and the Viking village that has been set up for the weekend in the Priory was fantastic, with all sorts of cookery and crafts being demonstrated. We had a picnic lunch on the way to the castle on the island and then headed back to the mainland for a beach stop off near Bamburgh, where this photo was taken. The weather was sunny but windy, and the sand blasting on the girls' faces meant we couldn't stay for too long.
