Prisoner 24601

An Empty

Ventured into Glasgow today.

The city was teeming. With rain and people. The blip shows St Vincent St, normally one of the busiest streets cordoned off to accommodate the final event of the Commonwealth Games - road cycling.

Frankly the organisation of the thousands of people within the 'zone' was appalling.

People who are given high-viz jackets or oversized and ill fitting glow-in-the-dark red tracksuits are suddenly transformed into Gods with seemingly omnipotent powers.

The city will return to normal tomorrow, thank goodness.

I sincerely hope that the obvious feel good factor remains and that a proper legacy is the just reward for a remarkable fortnight in my favourite city.

Perhaps the food bank I pass everyday going to work will not be needed in the future.
