Not a rosary

Somehow, when taking the blind down in order to paint the woodwork, the decorator managed to separate this plastic beaded cord from the roller mechanism.

Any ideas as to how to get it back in? I've failed, and have to climb on a stool to roll the blind up manually each morning.

PS if I'd known the blind had to come down, I'd have done it myself. :(
