Unter den Linden
Uninspiring day, cloudy and threatening - that's typical for Monday, I guess.
Hadn't done this walk for a while but thought I would check out Angie's report that my bees were here bat a large lime tree in full flower and throwing out a very distinct smell. MrB really does reckon they are my bees and while the nectar makes very good honey, he warned the oils in the nectar (and in most parts of the tree) are not unproblematic for the bees. Lime parts are used in a wide range of herbal medicines.
Thanks to the weather no doubt, no bees to be seen. Just a bit further on came across the building crane on the edge of the village. Our "organic" beef farmer Walter is building an extension for his son. The cranes are very common for DIY/single home building projects. You can buy or rent them, don't cost that much, transported easily on a truck & trailer and operated with a remote control on the ground.
There are few housing/estate building companies here. Generally the parish councils offer plots of single land and every home builder will do his own thing as required organising each of the various craftsmen from different companies.
