Northern Banded Water snake

Seen on our hike today. It was about 18 inches long.

The trail is not one of my favorites. Straight up and rocky. But there was a nice little water fall across some rocks. I took lots of pictures of the water before I noticed this guy hanging out.

Google has images, and he matches the northern banded water snake very well. And the range is right, too.

Nice to catch something interesting on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
