Steampunk gadgets: Tesla Communicator
I greatly appreciate steampunk aesthetics and design. This nifty stuff made its first appearance at Kempenfest in Barrie, ON. The designer is Phill Holder of the Steampunk Factory.
This typewriter shown here is an art piece called a Tesla Communicator. It contains a Tesla-inspired plasma ball, and Edison-type antique lamp, and various knobs and gauges. The typewriter is non-functional but the lamp and plasma ball work nicely. You can see a photo of it on the aforementioned website. It's selling for $950 (Canadian dollars). I wish I could afford it. It's superb.
