Learning The 'Lingo'.

Doing some last minute shopping (not on George St.) before the hols, I was stopped by D and M, from Austria, who were collecting examples of Scottish words and their meaning.

They had a long list, including..

Bevy......alcoholic drink
Boggin......smelly
Dreich.....wet, miserable weather
Fantoosh......flashy, posh
Wheesht!......Be quiet!
Braw......great, wonderful
Cludgie........toilet
Bawbees......money

Me, " Why are you doing this?"

D and M, " We are learning to speak English."
