World War One 100 years

My personal contribution to those named on our local war memorial who served during 1914-18 in the battle fields of Gallipoli,Palestine,France, Flanders and elsewhere.
It is debatable whether the poppies should have been placed on the 4th or 5th of August 2014. Britain declared war at midnight of the 4th and New Zealand learned, that as we were part of the British Empire we were also at war, at 3pm on the 5th.
Whether the 4th or 5th let's hope we have learned the causes and how to prevent it happening again, in the 100 years since.
