Good omens.
After two days of dull grey skies and unrelenting rain this looks very good. At least the sun is shining through occasionally and the wind has died down. You wouldn't be going far without a brolly though.
The youngest son arrived yesterday evening with a new super quiet heatsink and fan for my P.C. I was a touch wary as he has some form in this kind of thing. He announced that mine was the dirtiest computer he's ever seen and proceeded to pull things apart and brush and hoover everything. He finally got it all back together with mixed results, good and bad. The machine was virtually silent (Good) but it refused to boot up (Very Bad ). He left about ten thirty with my life under his arm, promising to fix it.
He arrived back at ten thirty this morning saying it had fixed itself. Grand, but there was no sound. More unsuccessful downloading of drivers and general fiddling about. It wasn't till older son dragged himself out of bed (He was gigging last night) that the problems were resolved.
I now have a lot of toolbars and other sh**te that I don't want but at least it's working. And it's very quiet.
