The Commonwealth

I was a volunteer programme seller in 1986, so I hope those that participated this time around also have good memories of their time at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. It was the last of it yesterday, listened on Radio, hearing Caledonia and the lone piper at the end - always gives me goosebumps :-)

At WGH for physio today, after, I decided to have a wander around the Commonwealth War Graves at Comely Bank.

Don't know this person but it caught my attention as the WRAF.

F.A. Smith, Woman's Royal Air Force, 9th Nov 1918, Age 21. Had a look at the archives, but to no avail, the WRAF was set up on 1st April 1918, working in Britain, France and Germany.

Commonwealth graves for 225 WW1 and 76 WW2. Many other graves too.

I even spotted a more recent one 2002, Thomas Goldie-Scott, who was a teacher of languages, but I met him when I was doing rehab work, I took him twice a week for exercises.

A full circle of exercise.

Tomorrow, at the Rannoch / Drumbrae Hub Family Festival, on the Foodbank Stall.
