Pip, Squeak and Wilfred
These three medals are the 1914 Mons Star, the British War Medal and the Victory Medal known as Pip, Squeak and Wilfred. They have to be worn together and in the correct order.
They were awarded to my Great Great Uncle Harry who was one of The Old Contemptibles (B.E.F.), regular soldiers who were in the Great War from the beginning. He was killed on December 16th 1916.
The Memorial Scroll was awarded to the next of kin when their relative was killed.
They are not the originals as they have been lost over time but Mum was able to obtain reproductions on proof of being related to Uncle Harry. She is also allowed to wear them.
Today, the 100th anniversary of WW1 is an appropriate time to remember him and all the others that lost their lives.
