Lights Out
“The lamps are going out all over Europe; we shall not see them lit again in our lifetime” the words of Sir Edward Grey, British Foreign Secretary, August 1914. Tonight we are being asked to turn out our lights from 10pm to 11pm to mark the Centenary of World War 1. This is my bedside light, coincidentally decorated with a poppy, which will be out as a mark of respect for the fallen. My father was born in 1913 and the following year 2 of his brothers were killed in quick succession.
Thank you so much for getting my butterfly from yesterday into the spotlight
