Getting In The Swim

The stretch between the changing rooms and the pool was very nippy this morning. But once in the water, it was bliss.

I inwardly thanked a fellow swimmer for her tip to take a pre-swim shower in cold water because it makes the pool that much warmer. She was right.

Today I started training in earnest for the Marie Curie Swimathon in April. I'm swimming in a team with Ruby and Wallis and Lynn and Danielle, my brother and sister-in-law.

Brome is doing some huge distance on his own. Wallis seems a bit horrified that I intend to swim my bit breastroke. I think she means I could do with some lessons.
