Dunstanburgh castle

A bit mixed this morning. Meant to go to Alnwick castle but due to the excessive entry price and then filming Downton abbey we ditched that plan and went here instead. A long walk to get there but a stunning spot for a castle.

Seems that Northumberland really did well in the castle building years! I suspect there was a bit of castle one upmanship going on.
