4 August 2014 - 100 years.

Another hot day! Walked along coastal path for 3 miles to a sandy cove. We sat, read, paddled and picnicked. Rebekah & Ziggy spent most of their time swimming, closely followed by Josh.
I looked at my sons, my brother and my father. How different life would have felt today if we'd lived a 100 years ago. I thought of my grandfather who fought in World War I. After one battle he spent a night entangled in barbed wire. He made a pact with God that if he survived he would pray each day for the rest of his life. He lived and knelt by his bed every night from then on.
We turned out the lights at 10pm, as the country was encouraged to do in commemoration.
