Meet the Artist who met Big Bird!

Sunday Big R and I took a trip up north to Anacortes Art Festival to see Ann Chaikin's paintings at the Art on the Port Exhibit and to visit with her family there. One brother lives in Bellingham and the other in Anacortes with his wife. We stopped by her Anacortes's brother's home to meet him and his wife and also her other brother, her husband Arvin and daughter Helena. We knew some of her family from previous visits. We all trooped off to see the many many exhibits along the main avenue in Anacortes. .WE stayed for a couple hours, then went to see Ann's paintings and head back to Seattle area as Big R had to finish up canning some salsa ---a big project he started the day before. He miscalculated how many tomatoes he bought so he had lots yet to make into Salsa!!!

I wanted to touch base with Ann and her family and we were able to do so and see her exhibit...we like to be supportive of local artists and expecially ones who are blippers! In this collage you see Artist Annieas she greeets and holds the big bird we "ran " into along the street fair exhibits . I also included the three paintings that were accepted into the Port Exhibit and a little bio on Ann that was next to her paintings.Congratulations to Ann!!!

In my blipfolio I"m going to upload one of another street artist I saw at the fair named Gustavo Cortez. He was doing a huge painting alongside his car with lots of loud Latin tunes blasting as he painted! Very cool.
