Porty People and Places
A perfectly still morning on the beach as I ran along the surf line - stopping to take some souvenir snaps of this wonderful weather as all the indications are that things will deteriorate rapidly over the week. In some ways we should not complain, as we have had an amazing run of warm sunny days almost continuously since we returned from the dunes of Doha in mid June. Our wee grandson is coming to stay for a week with his parents from today and we hope the weather does not spoil their holiday too much. We are looking forward to seeing them again as the last time we saw was in London in May
I was sorry to see Qatar Airways at the centre of a bomb threat today on one of its daily flights to Manchester. It had to be escorted into MAN by an RAF Typhoon. These are the same aircraft that are currently making a nightly sortie over Edinburgh Castle to open the Tattoo - subject to operational availability. (They cross the Porty shore line at 2059 hrs inbound from the east.)
