The Referendum Debate....

Today I got the train into Glasgow, and as I was walking up Buchanan Street I came across a press shoot for the Better Together Campaign. Not to miss a Blip opportunity I took this shot of Johann Lamont, Leader of the Scottish Labour Party, Willie Rennie, Leader of the Scottish Liberal Party and Ruth Davidson, Leader of the Scottish Conservative Party.

Tonight there is a special referendum debate on television that could change the future of Scotland.

The prize of victory in the Scottish referendum is still up for grabs for whoever can tap into the nation’s new political confidence tonight.

Tonight’s live two-hour showdown will see Alex Salmond and Alistair Darling put through their paces. First, they will face questions from STV’s political editor Bernard Ponsonby before being given the opportunity to cross-examine each other. Then the floor will be opened to questions from an audience of voters. The Scottish press wants to see sparks fly and will be keen to declare a definitive winner after tonight’s proceedings – if for no other reason than to spice things up.
