Swiss Gardens
We visited the Swiss Gardens at Old Warden, near Biggleswade, today. They reopened last weekend after being closed for 18 months having had £2.8m of lottery money spent on restoring the gardens to how they would have been in Victorian times. I'd always liked the gardens but they had become overgrown, and the folly buildings had fallen into disrepair. We were not disappointed; the money has clearly been well spent and the gardens are back to their glory.
The gardens are attached to the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden airfield, a collection of vintage planes, many still in flying condition. Two bi-planes were in flight when we arrived and I liked this picture best for my Blip. If you're interested in seeing the restored gardens, there are some pictures here.
