Belhaven Skyscape
There’s river: there’s beach; there’s sea; there’s Bass rock and there’s John Muir Country Park in this picture but all of these elements are as nothing to the beautiful blue sky and clouds. I lived in the city of Edinburgh for thirty two years before moving out to the coast in East Lothian some seven years ago and my abiding impression in moving here has been the marvellous big and often blue skies. Rarely in East Lothian do we get bland clear blue skies there’s nearly always some puffy clouds to give it form and shape. You may think this sky has been polarised but no, it has been darkened slightly as I was using and graduated filter and the glare from the beach is bright enough otherwise to totally skew the exposure and wash out the azure sky.
