Brussels Bath -Bruxelles les bains - Brussel Bad

Today was another lovely sunny day and I remembered that Brussels has its own beach during the summer weeks. I heard about this last year and was glad that it was still on, as I really wanted to see this. So off we went, son no 1 and I, by car to the Woluwe Shopping mall and then by metro to the canal which runs through Brussels.
There are festive large windmills along the canalside, there's a humorous sculpture by Tom Frantzen (the sculptor of the animal jazz band too) called Agent n0 15 and Vaartkapoen near the Sainctelette Bridge and the Brussels summer beach is on a 1 km long stretch along the Akenkaai /Quai de peniches. There were people actually sunbathing in bikini :-) It's kind of fun to see this in the middle of a city. There were plenty of families with young children who definitely had a lot of fun.
