A Hundred Years

We too turned out our lights between 10 and 11 pm and lit this single candle. We watched the service from Westminster Abbey which was very moving and thought provoking.
100 years since World War 1 began. In some ways, that seems a long time ago, before my parents were born, while my grandparents were still young.
And when the news broke, people could not tune in to the wireless, or see it on the television news, but only hear the cries of the newspaper sellers and read the headlines.
