Zoooooommmmmmm!
This little downy woodpecker was determined to demonstrate that hummingbirds aren't the only fast flyers at the bird bistro. He took off from the tray feeder just as I snapped the shutter, and I clocked him at 70 mph from a standing still start. The red streak you can see amidst the black and white feathers is the red on the top of his head that indicates this is a male woodpecker.
