Cucumbers galore

Our two cucumber plants in containers outside the kitchen window have been going great guns in the last couple of weeks. Some good long, straight cues but also some curley whirly ones too. Never mind, they all taste good.

Six of them have been used to make sweet cucumber pickle which is a favourite of ours. The recipe uses the vinegar from a jar of dill pickles half and half with cider vinegar, onions, red pepper, mustard seeds, celery seeds, turmeric and ground cloves. We now have 6 jars of the stuff with may be more to come.

The whole day yesterday was spent working on the prison contract and very productive it seemed to be too. But we found time to go for a stroll in the evening.

Rain forecast for tomorrow - we could do with some!
