Equi's is a Hamilton institution...

Pietro Equi left Tuscany in 1915 to seek his fortune, and ended up in Hamilton, Scotland. This might be viewed by some as rather a misfortune, but he turned it to his advantage. He started a fish and chip shop in 1922, which flourished.

In 1964 he moved to the current premises in Peacock Cross, and Equi's went from strength to strength. Equi's ice cream is a legend!
