Fostering Foster's Ideal Again
I took my daughter and her family to Stansted airport today.
In recent years passengers have been deposited in a nondescript car park and have had to access the terminal via a tunnel. This is not how Norman Foster envisaged it or wanted it to be.
He wanted people to arrive at his beautiful terminal and to be able to see and feel the thrill of air travel as it used to be years ago.
I was delighted that today we could drive up to the terminal as we used to do in the past. My sixteen-year-old grandson is squinting into the sun. Shame he lost his sunglasses just before he left home. That's boys for you. ;)
