Human rights

I was invited this morning to a discussion on how civic society in Scotland might progress the agenda on human rights in the coming years. Not just children's rights but economic, cultural, social, disability, rights as well.

Some interesting discussion about the extent to which there is public knowledge about how human rights play a part in our daily lives. All agreed there is a need for cultural change. The challenge is how best to go about achieving that. Met up with a former Education Minister, Peter Peacock, who had been involved with initiating the review of the children's hearings system in 2004.

On my way into Edinburgh on a tram I was reading some of the papers when the sun cast a shadow of the disabled logo. Seemed fitting.
